The Rain Bird External Antenna is used to get the best reception for the 3G/4G IQ Communications Cartridge. The antenna is mounted by screwing it into the plug hole on top of the controller. It is then plugged into the Communications Cartridge.

It comes with a grounding plane which is required when installing the external antenna, however if controller is housed in a metal cabinet it is not required.
